Museum of 'Casa de las Rocas': Purpose built in the 15th century to house the winning floats and chariots which paraded the city during Corpus Christi.These carriages were known as 'rocas' or rocks. Also housed within the museum are the ancient suits, costumes, headwear and banners of the floats.

The Almudín: In 1969 the Almudín was declared a Historic Heritage Monument of artistic importance. The building was originally used as a place of commerce including the trade of wheat and grain. Since 1996 it has been used as a hall for exhibitions.


The City of Arts and Sciences: This superb collection of buildings is fast becoming the definitive representation of Valencia throughout the world. Built directly on top of the dry riverbed of the old Túria. Designed by Valencia's beloved son Santiago Calatrava, the entire complex occupies some 350,000 square metres. It consists of four main sections: the Hemispheric, the Oceanographic, the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum and the Palace of Arts which houses the new concert hall.

The Príncipe Felipe Museum of Science: Museu de les Ciències Príncipe Felipe, as it is called in Valencia, forms part of the magnificent City of Arts and Sciences. The work of local giant Santiago Calatrava, the museum supposedly takes the shape of a whale's ribcage. The structure itself is a towering mass of clear glass and white coloured steel. Open to people of all ages, the museum is a mecca for the senses and the sciences. It needs to be seen to be believed and is well worth the visit.

Blasco Ibañez' house: This museum is installed in the house of Valencia's most famous writer, Vicente Blasco Ibañez. Found near the Malvarrosa beach, it houses many manuscripts, photos and portraits. Students and admirers of Blasco Ibañez will find it an invaluable visit.
Opening Hours: Tuesday to Saturday from 9am to 2pm, then from 5pm till 8pm in the evening.

The Prehistoric Museum: The Valencian Centre for Mediterranean Culture is host to the exhibition halls for the Prehistoric Museum. Within we find some of the most important archeological discoveries. A tour through the halls will let you discover the cultural revolution of the valencia area, passing from palaeolithic times to the rise of the Roman empire.
